In this day and age, worldwide environmental issues have become an increasing social concern. While some people argue that raising the price of fossil fuel is the most practical solution, I partly agree with this view because it should be supported by other measure which could affect individuals. On the one hand, boosting the expenses on petrol can efficiently weaken international environmental issues. This is because the cost of fuel can influence on people’s transport choices. When the number of private cars declines, the air pollution which can lead to environmental problem will be reduced. For example, if governments increase the expenses of fuel taxes, individuals may choose to take public transportation. As a result, there will be less cars on road which will contribute to reducing carbon emission. On the other hand, raising the cost of fuel alone is inadequate to address global ecological issues. The public can also play an important role in adressing these problems. It means that people can also make contribution to reduce environmental problems by reducing their use of plastic bags. Actually, the use of single-use bags is popular in individual's daily lives but they lack awareness of environmental protection. For instance, some people could burn plastic bags without understanding the harmful effects of this behavior. If people can use more paper bags, the environmental problems can also be tackled. Consequently, individuals can protect the planet by changing their behaviours. In conclusion, it is readily apparent that increasing the price of petrol is significant but individuals’ efforts on protecting the environment are also necessary. It is recommended that governments should also implement stricter policies which can require people to use paper bags. Meanwhile, companies should adopt greener production methods by replacing conventional fuel with renewable resources.
