IELTS vocabulary: ten words a day, taught as upgrades

Word Coach does not hand you ten unrelated flashcards. It teaches two upgrade clusters a day: one everyday word you already overuse, alongside five stronger alternatives and the exact sense each one owns. “Good” becomes beneficial for effects, effective for methods, favourable for conditions, sound for reasoning, compelling for arguments. Choosing correctly between them is what Lexical Resource actually measures.

You tick each word as you learn it, then take a ten-question test built from the cluster itself — the wrong answers are its other members, so guessing does not survive. A word is only counted as mastered once you have chosen it correctly twice on different days.

Where the words come from

• ✓Words are chosen by the everyday word they replace, so you upgrade the language you already write and say — not a list of rare words you will never use.
• ✓Every alternative carries the contexts it fits and the contexts it does not, plus a Speaking or Writing register tag, so you never say an essay-only word in Part 1.
• ✓The daily test is graded on our server against a fixed answer key — no AI marking, no guesswork, and no correct answer sent to your browser before you submit.
• ✓Mastery is earned, not self-reported: ticking a word marks it read, but only two correct test answers count it as mastered.
